How Does Surge Protection Work?

A ground wire’s purpose is to direct any additional current safely to the ground. The surge connection in the protector stays inactive until a bigger than normal voltage appears. This excess current is then securely redirected through the excess earth wire, directly into the ground. This prevents more current than normal from flowing to your appliances efficiently ensuring that they are protected from any harm which can result from power surges.
